Do we have any common black art to put in our homes anymore?
Main Post:
Growing up I feel our elders all had these (and a few more I’m missing) paintings in their homes. So I was thinking what type of art are we having in ours homes these days that will link us all together? What works will make the young people 20 years from now looking at throwback pics say “My auntie had that same painting in her living room!” and feel like we are all connected?
Top Comment: Probably but that first pic is ✨timeless✨
Black Art 11.1
Main Post:
Been seeing these pop up in my area and I'm wondering if anyone here has had the new Black Art 11.1 and would like to share their thoughts on it and if it's worth picking up or not.
Top Comment: I had the fortune to try out this bottle at a bruiladdich tasting in mijn local liquor shop. I was quite exited given the history of the bottle. It is made of casks which were produced when the distillery was closed but an interested buyer wanted to be sure the still worked. I found the taste pretty flat with no notes really coming forth. The finish was quite fast en didn't leave much impression. My personal reason to buy it would be to have a centerpiece in my collection with a unique history Other people at the tasting had the opinion that previous Black arts were much more exceptional Hope this helpt!
Where can I purchase black art for my home?

The title
As in the subjects are black or the artist themselves is black
Top Comment: Are there any arts and crafts festivals or vendor events in your area? I’ve seen quite a few Black artists at the ones I’ve attended in my area over the years. They usually have business cards if you want to browse more of their work. Also Etsy. Oh! Not sure if you’re in the US, but you can purchase prints from the National Gallery of Art and the National Portrait Gallery. My local art museums sell custom prints too. I find those to be great ways of discovering and supporting Black artists.

Is there a name for the black and white line art style seen in many OSR books?
Main Post:
I mean this kind of style seen in Barrowmaze:
or
Reminds me of the style of art from old 2000AD or Warhammer Monthly books. Black and white with high contrast between light and dark areas, highly detailed line work. Is there a name for this or is it just a subgenre of line art? I would love to find some resources to help me learn to draw like this, as I think it is beautiful and super cool. You see it a lot in older game materials because they do not use colour to keep the printing costs down, and I like it better than a lot of the coloured art we get in books nowadays.
Any knowledgeable art lovers here able to help me find more resources on this style?
